Living Nature has always been my favorite brand. It is natural and takes care of my skin without breaking it out. Recently they launched a new skin care line meant for people with “sensitive skin”. If you have sensitive skin and nothing seems to work on it then you MUST try this range. The range consists of cleanser, hydrating toner, day cream and night cream. Though I do not have sensitive skin but these days it is getting oily yet dull and dehydrated *sounds weird right?*. I have the weirdest kind of skin! Today I am going to review Living Nature Sensitive Hydrating Toner* that can be used by oily/ normal skin for nourishing day/ night treatment. It is priced at NZD$38 and you can buy online HERE.

Living Nature Sensitive Hydrating Toner comes in a refreshing green recyclable cardboard box packaging with all the information printed over it. There is also a small sample size of the cleanser. The actual product comes in a soft, squeezable off white plastic tube with a flip top lid. The packaging is very simple yet understated. 

The texture of the toner is soft and smooth with lotion like consistency. I was super happy when I found that it is fragrance free. I dislike products that have strong scent. I particularly use this toner as my “night treatment serum“ to keep my skin soft and hydrated. I simply take pea sized amount of toner and rub it between my hands and pat it gently on my face and neck. It gets absorbed instantly and makes my skin soft, smooth and hydrated. 

The weather is super humid at my place and I love how light it feels. In the morning, I wake up with healthy and glowing skin. It does tend to make my T-zone oily but it does not break it out. I also love using it under my makeup and I love how smoothly my foundation blends. If you have sensitive or dry skin then you will love it to the core. 

The hydrating toner contains certified organic virgin coconut oil and vegetable glycerin that makes skin soft and nourished. Harakeke Flax Extract also helps in hydrating and toning the sensitive skin without causing irritations!

PROS:

• Lightweight.

• Great for people with sensitive or dry skin.

• If you expect to see dirt on cotton pads (though I prefer to use it as serum!) then you might not like it.

Overall Thoughts:

I LOVE using Living Nature Sensitive Hydrating Toner as night treatment for my oily skin. It feels light and hydrating to my skin. It gets absorbed instantly and does not feel greasy even in humid weather. If you have sensitive or dry skin or want to hydrate your skin then I would definitely recommend it to you!

My Tips:

• If you have oily, combination skin, use it as night treatment/ serum.

• If you have combination skin and find it hard to blend foundation on your skin then use it as a base.

• I do not feel the need to use a moisturizer over it.

Rakhi Special Nail Art Tutorial

Rakhi Nail Art

Tomorrow is Rakshabandhan and I am sure all sisters would be super excited to tie rakhi on their brother’s wrist and of course get gifts *winks*. For my international readers, Rakshabandhan is an Indian festival for brothers and sisters wherein sisters tie rakhi on their brother’s wrist and in turn brothers promise to protect them. It is indeed a festival of fun and gifts! 

As promised I am back with my nail art and I made a super easy Rakhi nail art tutorial. 

Step 1:

Apply base polish of your choice and let it dry completely. Here I have used Oriflame Intense Pink Nail Polish (Review coming soon!) on my thumb and little finger, Born Pretty Store Candy Color Nail Polish on index finger and Faces White O White Nail Polish on middle and ring fingers.

On thumb, index and little finger, I had drawn gifts!

Step 2:

Take a yellow nail art pen and draw a horizontal line in the middle of the finger.

Step 3:

With the same nail art pen, draw small slanted strokes at the tip.

Step 4:

Take a white nail art pen and draw zig zag lines onto the yellow line.

Step 5:

With a black nail art pen, draw a bow and let it dry completely.

Step 6:

Put silver dots using a nail art tool. I have used Maybelline Glitter Mania Nail Polish in Dazzling Diva! It is the prettiest silver nail polish I own!

Step 7:

I drew rakhi on my middle and ring finger. Take the nail art tool and put a big dot. I have used Rosemary Nail Polish.

Step 8:

Using Maybelline Glitter Mania Nail Polish in Dazzling Diva put a smaller dot over the red dot and yellow dots around it.

Step 9:

With the dark pink nail art pen, draw the strings on either side. Do the same for the ring finger!

Step 10:

Draw the same gift pattern on little finger.

Before starting the review let me tell you it has to be used ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK. Yes it WORKS and shows results even when you use it bi weekly! 

The gold cream comes in an elegant black cardboard box packaging with all the information printed over it. The actual product comes in an exquisite plastic case that is unique and screams luxury! It comes with a superb quality spatula that you can use to take the cream out of tub without dipping your fingers. It definitely looks luxurious and gorgeous on my vanity. By far the best cream packaging I own! Though I do not need a cream for reapplication throughout the day but when I have to go for long tours than I never forget to keep the tub (without box!) in my bag!

The texture of the cream is soft and smooth with very mild and pleasant scent. I simply take small amount of cream and spread it across my face and neck after applying toner. It glides easily and gets absorbed quickly without leaving oily residue behind! Though I have oily skin but it does not feel heavy or sticky. I love using it under my makeup and I love how healthy my skin looks. With regular usage my skin looks smooth, hydrated and radiant. If you are suffering from fine lines then I would definitely recommend it to you! The pure 24k gold, premium botanicals, vitamins and finest diamond powder infused in it definitely makes a DIFFERENCE to my skin. It feels more even and radiant! It will suit all skin types and I have not faced any irritations whilst using it!

Being a nail art addict, nail glue is a must have for me. Not that I use it regularly but I love using it when I do nail art using glitter or big rhinestones. The nail glue* comes in a sturdy and opaque white plastic bottle with a screw top lid. The lid has brush applicator and is same as that of any nail polish. The brush has sturdy bristles and applies nail glue easily and perfectly on nails. I am so happy it does not smell weird unlike other glue. This nail glue is very sticky so make sure you do not accidently drop or apply it on your skin or clothes. 

Before applying nail glue, I always make sure to apply a base nail polish to prevent any damage to my nails. I then apply the glue using a brush and place rhinestones on it. The nail art glitter tends to fall away after 2-3 days when applied on clear nail polish but with nail glue it stays longer or until I remove it. The small size rhinestones stays on my nails for a good 5-6 days on clear polish so I avoid using nail glue with them!

Removing the nail glue is tricky. I simply soak cotton in the nail polish remover and place it on my nails for few minute. That way it removes pretty quickly!

PROS:

• Glitter and rhinestones stay longer on nails.

• No stinky smell.

• Easy to apply with brush applicator.

• Reasonably priced.

CONS:

• If you are not careful, it might stick to your skin or nails! 

Overall Thoughts:

Born Pretty Store Nail Glue is definitely great nail glue I have tried till date. It sticks big rhinestones and glitter nicely and my nail art stays fresh for a longer time. It does not have stinky smell and the brush applicator is an added bonus! I would definitely recommend it to all nail art lovers!

• Apply base polish first to avoid damage to nail bed.

• Make sure the nail glue does not come in contact with skin or clothes.

I skipped July Favorites because I was super busy last month (my shagun, traveling, shopping!) and now it’s already late to discuss last month’s Favorites. I will make sure to regularly post monthly favorites from now on! So here are the items that I particularly loved using in this month:


Kinuyuki Hydro Clarifying Toner (Reviewed HERE)
Being a beauty blogger, I tend to try many toners but this is one such gentle and light toner that I always reach for. It hydrates and cleanses the skin and feels nice in this sticky, humid weather. I know it is pricey but you get a good amount and it lasts really long. BTW you can now find it on Luxola as well! Kinuyuki is a Japanese brand and you would know how nice Japanese products are!

Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion (Reviewed HERE)
It is one of the BEST body lotions that can be used in any season. It is light yet hydrated and smells wonderful! I am already on my second bottle and would continue to buy it. It is perfect for all skin types and I love keeping it at my bedside table to moisturize my hands and feet before sleeping!

Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Cinnamon Lip Balm (Reviewed HERE)
It is a perfect tinted lip shade for day wear. I use it every time I do not feel like doing makeup and it makes me look natural yet alive! It is very moisturizing and gives natural or neutral color to my lips. A must have in every girl’s vanity!

Myface Cosmetics My Mix Foundation
I love natural yet radiant look and this foundation helps me in achieving this look. Although it provides sheer coverage but gives a lovely natural and fresh look to my skin. They have wide variety of shades to choose from so there is something for all skin tones! If you ever visit US, I would recommend you to check it out!

Oriflame The One 5 in 1 Color Stylist Lipstick in Classy Berry (Reviewed HERE)
Ok this shade looks dark and vampy in the tube but believe me it looks absolutely gorgeous on lips. I have many salwar suits in this shade and I can’t tell you how lovely it looks on my lips. I prefer going for simple eye look when I wear this lipstick. It instantly brightens up my face and stays for a long time even with light meals and few drinks! MUST HAVE  if you love wearing ethnic outfits!

Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania Nail Polish in Starry Nights (Reviewed HERE)
If you love glittery and blingy nails then you MUST try this nail polish. It not only looks glamorous on its own but with nail art as well. I did many nail art using it (I will start doing nail arts on blog soon!) and I love the effect it gives to a simple nail art!

Dualshine necklace comes in a clear plastic case which is pretty useless and I have already transferred it to my jewelry box. The necklace consists of a chain and a pendant. What attracts me the most about the necklace is its unique chain! It is designer and feels super light on neck.

The necklace is made of copper and gold plated metal alloy with high quality encrusted “zircon stones”. The pendant has gorgeous sun like design and looks stunning with both western and ethnic outfits. It does not tend to spin around or gets tangled. I wore it during my shagun and it looks very gorgeous and classy on my neck. Now you might be wondering why I wore such a light necklace! Let me tell you my lehenga was long kurta style with a stand collar (You can check out my Instagram if you want to have a look at my outfit!). I accessorized my outfit with a chaand tika (that was pretty BIG!) and long earrings so to avoid looking like an overdose of jewelry doll I wore this simple yet classy necklace. The chain looks very delicate but is quite sturdy. I wore it many times but still it is in great condition. It is of good quality and does not cause allergy or irritation. It is 40 cms long and has a simple lock that looks tacky but does not loosen up. 

PROS:

• Lightweight.

• Comes in two color- silver and gold!

• Looks extremely pretty on neck!

• Great quality.

• Zircon stones shine beautifully when the light hits.

• Unique chain!

• Reasonably priced.

CONS:

• I wish the lock was lobster clasp! It would be more easy and convenient.

Overall Thoughts:

I totally loved this zircon necklace from Dualshine. It is of great quality and looks awesome with all outfits. It feels super light and I get many complements whenever I wear it. I would definitely recommend it to you if you love classy jewelries!

The stopper or dropper!

Oleon Moroccan Argan Oil comes in a sturdy, dark brown glass bottle with a black screw top lid. As soon as you open the lid, there is a plastic dropper that seems pretty annoying to me. It is difficult to pour the drops through the dropper and it literally irritates me to sit with a tilted bottle! I have pierced a big needle into it to solve the problem. I wish there was proper dropper to avoid any hassles! Keep aside the packaging, I must say this is the BEST and PUREST argan oil I have used till date! I have been using it since 3-4 weeks and I can definitely see positive and visible difference in my hair and skin. 

The argan oil is light yellow in color with very mild scent that is hardly noticeable. You literally need to sniff it like scooby doo to be able to detect the smell *laughs*. The oil has fairly thick consistency but pours out of the bottle quickly. I have medium length hair with dry ends. After towel drying my hair, I simply take 2 drops of oil, rub between my palms and run through the length of my hair paying more attention to the ends just like you use any hair serum. The oil leaves my hair soft and shiny. I no more suffer from dry and knotty ends. When in hurry, I simply take small amount of water in a spray bottle, add a couple of drops of oil, shake it and spray it onto the length of my hair! I have also used it as hair oil and it definitely makes my hair soft, healthy and bouncy after I shampoo my hair. 

The argan oil is dry oil and can be used as moisturizer for all skin types. I have oily, acne prone and was skeptical to use it on my face (I use Rosehip Oil for my face!) but the brand owner encouraged me to use it as many of her clients had benefitted from this oil. I use argan oil as night treatment. I simply take a drop of oil, rub between my palms and pat it on my clean skin. It gets absorbed quickly and does not feel greasy. It is moisturizing and I skip using any other serum or moisturizer. If you have dry skin then apply it over your moisturizer to seal the moisturizing properties. I wake up with a soft, smooth and radiant skin. Though my T-zone tends to get oily (it gets oily even if I do not apply anything!) but it did not break me out. It also helps in calming acne and pimples. It has anti-ageing properties so is great for people suffering from fine lines and parched skin. I use it thrice a week and I can already see a visible difference to my skin. It gives a healthy glow to my skin and makes it hydrated!

I love using argan oil as a cuticle oil and hand cream too. I simply rub the remaining oil onto my hands and wow my hands feel super soft and young looking (not that my hands look old *laughs*)! Did I tell you Argan Oil is known as “Liquid gold” in a bottle?

PROS:

• All natural and cold pressed argan oil!

• Very mild scent.

• Moisturizing.

• Gets absorbed into the skin easily.

• Versatile product- can be used on nails, hands, hair and skin.

• A little goes a long way.

• Skin feels soft, smooth and radiant.

• Hair feels soft and shiny.

• No skin irritations!

• Reasonably priced for pure argan oil!

CONS:

• The dropper of the bottle is really annoying though the brand is already working on it!

Overall Thoughts:

Oleon Moroccan Argan Oil is definitely one of the BEST multi functional oil I have used. It keeps good care of my skin, hair and nails. It is definitely a liquid gold in a bottle and I would HIGHTY RECOMMEND it to everyone!

• If you have dry ends then I would recommend you to use it regularly. You will definitely see a difference!

• Dry skinned beauties will love it to the core.

• I have oily skin and I feel my skin feels balanced throughout the day with its regular usage.

I grabbed this neem and tulsi face wash as soon as my eyes laid on it. No I do not have eagle’s eyes but they become one when they read “neem and tulsi” *laughs*. Patanjali Neem & Tulsi Face Wash comes in a sturdy, white tube with a flip top lid. It is of convenient size and I love carrying it with me whilst traveling. It is yellow-ish green in color with a mild scent that is slightly artificial (though it is not bothersome at all!). 

I simply take small amount of face wash and massage it onto my face with gentle hands. It lathers nicely and feels great on skin. It washes away quickly without leaving residue behind. Though the scent is artificial but it makes me feel fresh and awake. I have oily skin and it feels smooth and thoroughly clean. It gives a healthy glow to my skin. I do not feel the immediate urge to moisturize my skin but if you have combination you might feel the need to moisturize the skin right after the wash. As I said it thoroughly cleanses the skin, it prevents pimples and acne from occurring and combats existing ones too! 

The face wash contains all good ingredients that are boon for oily skin- neem, tulsi and aloe vera. If you regularly wear makeup then you MUST first remove makeup with a makeup remover and then follow it up with this face wash.

PROS:

• Mild and pleasant scent.

• Rich yet soft lather.

• Very light and mild on skin.

• Skin feels clean and smooth after washing.

• Gives a healthy glow to the skin.

• No breakouts or irritations.

• Inexpensive.

• Great for oily to combination skin. People with normal skin can also try as it does not dry out the skin!

• Sturdy packaging.

• Contains neem, tulsi and aloe vera.

CONS:

• Does not remove makeup! I think there is no face wash that removes makeup completely.

Overall Thoughts:

I totally love this face wash! It works like a charm on my oily skin and I have not faced a single breakout since the time I am using it. It deep cleanses the skin removing all dirt and oil off of the skin. I would definitely recommend it to people with oily, acne prone skin! GREAT for the price too!

Born Pretty Store Nail Art Pen* comes in a pen form with a color representation on it. Though the color of my pen is blue but it shows purple on the pen. Yes that is the reason I applied purple nail polish on my index and small finger! I did not check it before applying the base polishes. The nib of the nail art pen is white and you need to tap it many times on a paper to make it work. The nib will go in and out just like a pump but do not worry it would not break! The nib is very STURDY! When you see the nib getting stained, you are ready to flow your creativity!

I use it just like my pen and draw the shapes or designs I desire. I drew stars and smiles on my nails. I used to draw these two designs in my notebooks in boring lectures *laughs*. You can draw the designs on bare or painted nails. I used Faces White O White Nail Polish as a base. The pigmentation is superb and you can draw the nail art without going over the same line again and again. The ink dries super fast and you are ready to finish it off with a top coat. It stays on my nails for a good 3-4 days after that it starts fading. 

The nail art pen is indeed a “creative invention” for those who loves nail art but does not have enough time to do it. If you are a beginner in nail art then you will love it for sure. I have used it many times and it still in superb condition!

PROS:

Born pretty Store Nail Art Pen is superb nail art tool when you really do not have time to do nail art but still want to decorate your nails. You need to use it just like a pen. It dries fast and you do not need to wait for ages. I am definitely going to pick up few more shades and would recommend it everyone especially “beginners” in nail art!

My Tips:

• Close the lid of the pen when you do not use it.

• Apply the pen when the base polish is completely dry.

• Apply the top coat to make the nail art last longer.
