Born Pretty Store Mickey Mouse Theme Halloween Nail Art Water Decals Review

Born Pretty Store Mickey Mouse Theme Halloween Nail Art Water Decals
Happy Tricks or Treating friends!

I really could not believe there is only 1.5 months left for my wedding. October flies away really fast. I particularly do not celebrate Halloween but no matter what I can express it through my nails. Few months back, I bought this lovely sheet of Halloween theme nail art water decals from Born Pretty Store. Not only they are spooky but are way too cute! I am sure you will agree with me! They are based on Mickey Mouse pattern and no matter how old I get, I will love Mickey Mouse (and of course Minnie Mouse too!). These water decals are priced at $3.05 and are currently on discount at $0.99. You can buy online on Born Pretty Store HERE.

You can use the discount coupon code MEGW10 to get 10% discount on your order!

Born Pretty Store Mickey Mouse Theme Halloween Nail Art Water Decals
Born Pretty Store Halloween Nail Art Water Decals comes in a long white cardboard pack that is sealed in a plastic. They are themselves sealed with a thin plastic sheet. They are stuck onto a white flexible sheet that prevents them from getting damaged. They can be securely carried around in a bag or purse. The stickers have different Halloween based designs that look very cute and adorable. Mickey Mouse Theme makes them look more adorable and eye catching.

The nail water decals are made of very thin plastic that does not tend to stick to itself upon application. They are super easy to apply and feel extremely light on nails.

Here is the procedure on how to apply water decals on nails:
• Remove the thin plastic sheet from the decals.
• Cut the pattern of decals you love to apply using scissors and place them on a table.
• Take a bowl of water. I use normal water of room temperature.
• Gently place the first decal in water and leave it for 10-20 seconds.
• Take out the decal from water using a tweezer.
• Put the decal with the face down on the index finger. Using your thumb, lightly slide the sheet and the decal would be separated. If it is not sliding off then put it again in water for few seconds.
• Now place the decal over your nail and slide it to adjust its position. It gives you enough time to place the decals properly on your nails.
• I then gently wipe off the water using a soft towel.
• After doing all nails of one hand, apply a top coat to seal it.

Always make sure to apply top coat because once your nails get in contact with water, the decals would start sliding off. Nail art water decal is one of the easiest ways to do your manicure within few minutes. I find these decals much better than nail art stickers. The pattern looks really cute and girlie on nails. They look prettier in person than in pictures. The water decals last on my nails for a week without wearing off. They can be easily removed using a good nail polish remover. I used black (Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Blackout) and orange (Lakme Color Crush Nail Polish #7) nail polishes to give the Halloween effect!

PROS:
• Easy to apply.
• Look spooky yet cute on nails.
• Feel extremely light on my nails.
• Superb longevity.
• Reasonably priced.
• Easily available.
• Easy to remove.
• Born pretty Store provides International Shipping.

Born Pretty Store Glitter Powder Picker Review

Born Pretty Store Glitter Powder Picker
I LOVED the effect glitter and shimmers give to the nails. I do glitter nail art only when I need to attend a party as I find this process a bit messy. Recently while browsing Born Pretty Store I came across this tool which reads “Glitter Picker”. Though I was not sure if it would be of much help but I ordered it anyways! Born Pretty Store Glitter Picker* is currently on discount at $1.99 (original price $3.50) and you can buy online HERE. Use Born Pretty Store discount coupon code MEGW10 to get 10% off on your order!

Born Pretty Store Glitter Powder Picker
Born Pretty Store Glitter Powder Picker
Born Pretty Store Glitter Powder Picker
The glitter picker does not come in any case so make sure you keep it in long box to avoid damage to the foam. The foam or sponge is attached at the top of the tool and is very soft. The glitter picker looks just like any other makeup brush with a pink wooden handle.

Apply the base coat and let it dry completely. Use the clear polish at the point where you want the glitter to stick. I simply tap the glitter picker slightly on glitters/ shimmers. Instead of sweeping or tapping it onto wet clear polish, I tap the handle and glitter falls off on the nail polish and adheres to it. In case you tap the sponge onto your nail polish, you can clean the sponge with nail polish remover easily. The glitter picker picks the right amount of glitter and makes glitter nail art way too easy. The glitter or shimmers do not tend to stick to the foam and falls off with a light tap.

The glitter picker is definitely an innovative product and is a great tool if you are fond of shimmer nail art but find it quite messy. The only downside is the sponge is slightly loose from the end and I take care to use it gently else it might fall off! I did a nail art using this tool HERE.

PROS:
Easy to use.
Picks up right amount of glitter or shimmer.
The shimmers fall off easily on nails without being messy.
Easy to hold the tool.
Reasonably priced.
Great tool for nail art lover!
Born Pretty Store provides International Shipping.

CONS:
The sponge is slightly loose at the end and might fall off if pressure is applied!

Overall Thoughts:
Born Pretty Store Glitter Picker is an easy way to do glitter or shimmer nail art. It does not create a mess like fan brush. I would definitely recommend it all nail art lovers! Great for the price too!

The nail art stickers set comes in a plastic pack wherein the stickers are stuck onto a thick white sheet to protect the stickers from getting spoiled or damaged. It can be easily carried around in a handbag. It contains 2 sets of designs in 1 sheet with very thin glittery lines in golden and silver.

Each sticker is made of thick plastic which lay flat on nails and feels like nail art water decals. It doesn’t tend to stick to itself upon application. I use tweezers to pull the stickers off the sheet, trim them according to my nail size and apply them onto my nails. I then put a little pressure to make sure the stickers are stuck well and won’t peel off. The stickers look very pretty and elegant on my nails. They are quite lightweight and I don’t feel like I have anything on my nails. It takes only 10 minutes to apply the stickers on all your 10 fingers. The stickers are super easy to apply and it doesn’t require you to be a nail art expert. They last for a good 4-5 days without wearing off or sliding around the nails. I always apply a top coat as per the instructions to make the effect last longer. I feel they look very pretty when you pair them with dark nail paints. I think I chose wrong shade but still it definitely looked elegant in person! They can be easily removed or peeled off using a good nail polish remover. They do not leave glue residue behind.

PROS:
•    Easy to use.
•    Good quality stickers.
•    Look very pretty on nails.
•    Last long.
•    Feel super light on nails.
•    2 set of nail art stickers in one pack.
•    Reasonably priced.
•    Born Pretty Store provides International shipping.

CONS:
•    None.

Overall Thoughts:
These “ultrathin line stickers” have definitely become my favorite. You can use them according to your creativity and they will make your nails look glam and elegant. They are super easy to use and I would highly recommend them to everyone!

Rating: 5/5

My Tips:
•    Always apply base coat to prevent your nails getting stained from dark nail polishes.
•    Before applying nail art stickers, make sure the nail polish is dry.
•    If you do not have long nails to peel stickers, use tweezers.
•    Apply top coat to make your nail art last long.

Do you love metallic line stickers? What is the best item you bought from Born Pretty Store?

Rakhi Special Nail Art Tutorial

Rakhi Nail Art
Tomorrow is Rakshabandhan and I am sure all sisters would be super excited to tie rakhi on their brother’s wrist and of course get gifts *winks*. For my international readers, Rakshabandhan is an Indian festival for brothers and sisters wherein sisters tie rakhi on their brother’s wrist and in turn brothers promise to protect them. It is indeed a festival of fun and gifts!

As promised I am back with my nail art and I made a super easy Rakhi nail art tutorial.

Step 1:
Apply base polish of your choice and let it dry completely. Here I have used Oriflame Intense Pink Nail Polish (Review coming soon!) on my thumb and little finger, Born Pretty Store Candy Color Nail Polish on index finger and Faces White O White Nail Polish on middle and ring fingers.

On thumb, index and little finger, I had drawn gifts!

Step 2:
Take a yellow nail art pen and draw a horizontal line in the middle of the finger.

Step 3:
With the same nail art pen, draw small slanted strokes at the tip.

Step 4:
Take a white nail art pen and draw zig zag lines onto the yellow line.

Step 5:
With a black nail art pen, draw a bow and let it dry completely.

Step 6:
Put silver dots using a nail art tool. I have used Maybelline Glitter Mania Nail Polish in Dazzling Diva! It is the prettiest silver nail polish I own!

Step 7:
I drew rakhi on my middle and ring finger. Take the nail art tool and put a big dot. I have used Rosemary Nail Polish.

Step 8:
Using Maybelline Glitter Mania Nail Polish in Dazzling Diva put a smaller dot over the red dot and yellow dots around it.

Step 9:
With the dark pink nail art pen, draw the strings on either side. Do the same for the ring finger!

Step 10:
Draw the same gift pattern on little finger.

Our Rakhi Special Nail Art is ready! Hope you enjoyed my simple rakhi nail art!
Rakhi Nail Art

Nail Polishes and Tools used:

I have an elder brother and I get many gifts from him mostly mobile. I cannot believe I already have 6 smart phones *laughs* and this time I told him I don’t need any more. I really enjoyed making this nail art using different colors and it looks prettier in person.

Wishing all my readers a very HAPPY RAKSHABANDHAN!

What are your plans for Rakshabandhan?

Born Pretty Store Nail Art Glue Review

Born Pretty Store Nail Art Glue
Being a nail art addict, nail glue is a must have for me. Not that I use it regularly but I love using it when I do nail art using glitter or big rhinestones. Born Pretty Store has lots of nail glue in stock and I planned to choose this one after doing research. It is priced at $1.49 (currently on discount) and you can buy online HERE.

Born Pretty Store Nail Art Glue
Born Pretty Store Nail Art Glue
The nail glue* comes in a sturdy and opaque white plastic bottle with a screw top lid. The lid has brush applicator and is same as that of any nail polish. The brush has sturdy bristles and applies nail glue easily and perfectly on nails. I am so happy it does not smell weird unlike other glue. This nail glue is very sticky so make sure you do not accidently drop or apply it on your skin or clothes.

Before applying nail glue, I always make sure to apply a base nail polish to prevent any damage to my nails. I then apply the glue using a brush and place rhinestones on it. The nail art glitter tends to fall away after 2-3 days when applied on clear nail polish but with nail glue it stays longer or until I remove it. The small size rhinestones stays on my nails for a good 5-6 days on clear polish so I avoid using nail glue with them!

Removing the nail glue is tricky. I simply soak cotton in the nail polish remover and place it on my nails for few minute. That way it removes pretty quickly!

PROS:
Glitter and rhinestones stay longer on nails.
No stinky smell.
Easy to apply with brush applicator.
Reasonably priced.
Born Pretty Store provides International shipping.

CONS:
If you are not careful, it might stick to your skin or nails!

Overall Thoughts:
Born Pretty Store Nail Glue is definitely great nail glue I have tried till date. It sticks big rhinestones and glitter nicely and my nail art stays fresh for a longer time. It does not have stinky smell and the brush applicator is an added bonus! I would definitely recommend it to all nail art lovers!

My Tips:
Apply base polish first to avoid damage to nail bed.
Make sure the nail glue does not come in contact with skin or clothes.

Do you use nail glue? How do you make your nail art last longer?
